Introduced by Pete Seeger, Dylan performs “Mr. Tambourine Man”, which was later recorded by folk-rock group The Byrds just a year later. In the following year, 1965, Dylan would return to the Newport Folk Festival to take the stage with the infamous “Electric Set” backed by members of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. It is doubtful whether as Seeger was introducing Dylan in 1964 he even suspected that he would (as the rumor goes) he would be looking for an axe to cut the wires of the electric Dylan just a year later.
