The last song recorded by legendary pioneer Jimmie Rodgers was somewhat autobiographic, reflecting on his relatively short recording career. Though the recording engineer hired two session musicians to come and play with Rodgers in the second to last session, the final session in New York City was Jimmie Rodgers alone. Though you can barely tell, Rodgers’ tuberculosis had devastated his breathing; Rodgers died just two days later: May 26, 1933 at the age of 35 from a lung hemorrhage.
